NuPark, the leading provider of next generation parking management solutions, announced that they will provide automated parking management and enforcement for Eastern Washington University (EWU). By using NuPark’s cloud-based Parking Management System, EWU will now be able to provide the campus with more efficient and customer centric parking options.
Eastern Washington University is located approximately 20 miles west of Spokane. EWU will use NuPark’s open smart parking management system to help automate their enforcement and permitting operations. The system includes license plate recognition (LPR) technology; real-time data access and syncing; and options for electronic permitting, payments, citations, and appeals.
EWU was challenged with operational inefficiencies of the physical hang-tag parking permit system it used. NuPark’s system will enable EWU to issue virtual permits and verify parking permissions, enforce and issue citations in real time, and seamlessly integrate with existing meters, mobile payments and infrastructure while using license plate recognition technology. Andrew LaMothe, NuPark’s Director of Regional Sales, commented that NuPark’s “next-generation platform is going to enable EWU to take their parking program to a whole new level. They will enjoy a system designed for ease-of-use and efficiencies while simultaneously aggregating data from multiple sources that can be used in a consumable manner.”
“We decided to switch to NuPark because we needed a flexible system that could respond to our challenges while simultaneously accommodating our future needs,” said Michelle Rasmussen, Director of Parking and Transportation Services with Eastern Washington University. “NuPark will be able to address our current situation and continue to adapt to future changes while incorporating technology that helps us meet the University’s sustainability goals within our parking operations.”
